Introduction
I am so
excited to join The Nester this year for the 31 Days Challenge!
I hope that you will join me on this adventure! In the years
that my passion for the foster care system has grown I have discovered 2 main
things.
1. There are a lot of myths and rumors, most of them negative
2. There are so many people that would love to get involved but
are afraid, not ready or can't actually become a foster parent and don't know
that there are other ways that they can make a difference.
My name is Tristen, I'm a proud mom of two biological daughters
that keep me on my toes and to the foster children we are blessed to take care
of for stretches of time. Eventually, a sibling group will come to us and
things will work out where we get to be their forever family. In the meantime,
we continue to love, provide hope and a stable foundation for the little ones
that come under our roof for short and long stretches of time.
During the next 31 Days, I will debunk myths and provide facts and
information about the real picture of the foster care system and the thousands
of children for which it is a reality. My hope is to inform and inspire you.
There is a great need for foster parents, and if you are ready to take that
path, I would LOVE to walk with you! Still, there is an even greater need for
understanding, compassion and support for the foster children in the system and
the families that are striving to care for them.
Not everyone can be a foster parent but everyone can do something to make a
difference for foster children.
:) Tristen
This sounds like a great series!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteI will definitely be following along! My series is "31 Reflections on Instant Mothering (from a new mom of four)" because in April we received a placement from foster care of four precious children that we are on our way to adopting!

Wow, Ashley, congratulations on your precious bundle! It is quite a leap to become a family of 6 overnight, but it is a beautiful, beautiful thing! :) Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to hearing your thoughts as the series progresses. ~Tristen
